The generosity of people like Stewart and Lynda Resnick is fantastic and much appreciated.

I'm one of those who whenever reading about a major new acquisition of artwork for LACMA, or the Getty, or the Huntington, or MOCA, or some major donation to a local cultural or educational institution in general (USC/UCLA, LA Zoo, LA County Museum of Natural History, Music Center, LA Philharmonic, Colburn School, etc), treat it quite personally. Meaning that I feel like I've just received a great birthday gift or been told I've won the Lotto.

Thanks again to the philantrophists of Los Angeles and Southern California!

The idea behind an ideal studio (and gallery) space's lighting is having north-facing windows. Because it's impossible for direct sunlight to enter, all northern light is reflected and diffuse. Did Antoine say southern light? I think sonmeone is a bit turned around!
