I am so thrilled to have visited the LACMA today and it's newly opened Korean Galleries. The significance of the loan of The Pensive Bodhisattva is literally on par with King Tut's golden mask exhibit from the 70s. I really wish that this would have been much more heavily advertised, as I nearly missed it, despite being a LACMA member and very frequent visitor to the museum. I truly believe that this summer's installation by a contemporary Korean artist who used thousands of items from the 99¢ store was more heavily advertised than the next-to-impossible loan of Korean National Treasure #78. I literally shudder to think how close I was to missing this exhibit. Kudos to the curator; shame on LACMA. This work is one of the single most significant items to ever be displayed in LACMA's galleries, and I am saddened that there was never even one street lamp banner in Los Angeles to advertise it.

Thank you so much for your encouraging comments. I am so happy to hear that you enjoyed the women's art. One of our staff will write about it on this blog, so please visit this site often.

We are working on the catalogue, and it will be available in the near future.

Thank you so much for offering us to be able to view the Pensive Bodhisattva, which I say yesterday. It took my breath away, especially the grace which seemed to engulf me as I stood looking with awe.
The rest of the exhibit was also excellent. I especially loved the "Woman's Room" and wished there was a catalog for the exhibit. All the creativity the woman expressed was so admirable and colorful. I expecially admired the "wrapping" with all the beautiful colors. It was more gorgeous the way they arranged the squares. Thanks so much for your work!
