I wonder if Ms. Resnick was a bit bothered by the contrast of the plain concrete floors mixed in with the traditional, formal style of the walls in &quot;Eye for the Sensual&quot; and, of course, the art objects in her collection? I&#039;m guessing the designers did that purposefully to symbolize a sort of deconstructionist, honest hipness of the new Pavilion. But if that also allowed the cost of the exhibit&#039;s design to be reduced -- and I&#039;m sure it did -- so much the better. 

Regrettably, the plain concrete floors (as a substitute for, say, parquet) looked to me like LACMA ran out of money at the last minute. That&#039;s also the feeling I get whenever I walk through the relatively new BP entryway.

More fundraising appears to be necessary.]]></description>
