When I mentioned shotgun houses in my comments NO ONE in the group knew what that meant. In your great analysis of the painting you didn’t make it clear either. A shotgun house is where you can stand at the front door, shoot a shotgun and the spray will go all the way to the back. The rooms are all lineal. Your viewer will realize even more oppression when knowing the full meaning of Shotguns. PS: I was raised in Baton Rouge.
