These exquisite creations were put together under conditions that were ill-lit and generally dismal. I couldn’t help but wonder how many poor women lost their eyesight afer toiling away at these lovely artifacts. Please let’s remember these anonymous (mostly female) workers and acknowledge their considerable contribution to these historical costumes.
