Planning to visit Los Angeles in a couple of weeks. Never viewed Robert Mapplethorpe’s work when it was shown here in NYC.

But looking forward to going to LACMA to finally view it !!

Whitaker’s opinion… make it (spelled correctly) a fluorescent XYZ instead of an XXX warning sign and I would agree to even the hanging light bulbs for a degree of raw ambience of this masterful work of art.

I’m looking forward to viewing these and many more exhibitions of Mapplethorpe’s works.

Parents or anyone with children should not be allowed to take them in to see these mostly gay porn images just as they are not allowed inside a XXX store ……who calls a Caligula type photo of an arm rammed inside someones behind art???? Obviously you do Mr. Salvesen.
What is going to be next? Child pornography guised as great works of art…..The masters are rolling in their graves to be under the same roof as this crock! If you must have this display, have it where it belongs, down in the deep, dark, damp basement illuminated by a few hanging lightbulbs like a Halloween prop…oh yeah, make sure you have the florescent triple X warning sign!!!!
